Aptima provides collaborative decision support systems, adversarial models, and threat prediction tools for operational and intelligence analysis. Our LaVA^TM software toolkit has been used to analyze free text in a number of domains including online news to make forecasts of upcoming events, personnel documents to create a team of experts, and blogs to follow the spread of ideas. Other technologies include agent-based models to forecast civilian response to courses of action and network analysis to identify enemy networks and tactics. These tools are vital for effective counterinsurgency, which requires new paradigms in strategy and tactics. Aptima’s innovative approach couples social science principles with rigorous quantitative, computational methods to provide enhanced capabilities for optimizing the Blue layer, defeating the Red layer, and influencing the Green layer.
